Alvin Kuai Alpharetta Concert reviews
Great show minus the terrible venue
The four stars in my rating are solely representative of the quality of the music performances by the artists at NE Country Music Festival. Gillette Stadium was more than willing to let concertgoers into the parking lot early and charge an extra $20 per car on top of the astronomical standard $40 parking fee. The subpar event management and near-brutal attempts by poorly trained local and state police forces really detracted from what would have otherwise been an extremely enjoyable concert going experience. Concertgoers that paid $60 per car to park were then permitted only a three hour window for tailgating, and when one takes into consideration the time required to set up there was very little time left to enjoy games, beverages, and some good old-fashioned grilling. State troopers circulated on horses with brutal attempts to force individuals out of the parking lot and into the concert at 5:00pm. One group parked near us attempted to toss around a football to pass the time, but it was promptly confiscated. Sitting in chairs was not permitted, but they generously let overheated, anxious concertgoers stand in between rows of cars on hot asphalt for hours. Let me begin by clarifying that the entire concert experience was subpar at best thanks to the poor event management strategies devised by Gillette Stadium and the state and local police forces to ruin everyone's fun. At 5:00pm, concertgoers were not allowed to take down their tailgating tents or lock up their personal belongings as state troopers circulated on horses threatening people with arrests and knocking into people. The endless stream of police circulating the parking lot failed to clarify in advance what activities were classified as “tailgating.” One individual in our group was arrested for going back to his car to lock his doors when he “should have been in the concert.” Tailgating setups were pillaged and people returned after the concerts to damaged, smashed up tents and stolen belongings. Attendees were then forced to wait two hours or more until 2:00pm to begin “tailgating” festivities. Our group had one tent destroyed and four coolers and their contents stolen. I will never attend an event at Gillette Stadium again with such astronomical prices for tickets, parking, and concessions, the return on your investment is far too little.
